We’re thrilled to share that Stuart Oliver has been elected the new president for the Structural Engineering Society of New Zealand (SESOC)!
Stuart is our Technical Development Lead at Holmes, based in Ōtautahi/Christchurch, and brings over 25 years of structural engineering experience across Aotearoa New Zealand, Europe, and California. His portfolio includes complex projects such as the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct, Parliament Museum St Building, Spark Christchurch, and Wellington Railway Station.
Stuart has played a crucial role in shaping industry knowledge. He was a lead author of the MBIE Technical Guidelines on Seismic Assessment of Existing Buildings and has contributed to similar documents in North America and Europe. He is currently leading the SESOC/NZSEE/NZGS Nonlinear Response History Analysis Guidelines and serves as the Editor of the joint NHC/MBIE/SESOC Low Damage Seismic Design Technical Guidance document.
