We’re excited to announce our work on Omāroro Reservoir was awarded Silver at the 2024 ACE Awards.
Omāroro Reservoir provides critical bulk water storage for the Wellington CBD and low-lying suburbs, improving daily resilience in water infrastructure, as well as improving disaster resilience.
Holmes’ collaborative partnership with main contractor HEB produced an innovative, cost-efficient, and technically creative alternative design. We proudly saved the client (Wellington Water) $9M in capital expenditure, and around 20% in embodied carbon compared to the original design.
Working closely with Wellington Water during the design process, Holmes adapted aspects of the specification to suit their longer-term needs. The reservoir was delivered on time, within budget, and was operational an entire year early.
